Number of employees: 750
The client
B+G Schweiz AG is a Swiss group specializing in landscaping, outdoor construction, and sports facilities. The company employs approximately 750 people across more than 20 locations in Switzerland and generates annual revenues of around CHF 150 million.
The group serves both private and commercial clients and is owned by private equity investors, including Patrimonium Private Equity and the Ernst Göhner Stiftung, with a strong focus on operational efficiency and long-term value creation.
The challenges
B+G Schweiz AG experienced a sudden leadership gap when the strategic procurement leader left the organization.
During this period, procurement activities continued to operate independently across multiple companies within the group. While this decentralized structure allowed operational flexibility, it also created inefficiencies at the group level.
Key challenges included:
-
No consolidated overview of material procurement spending
-
Fragmented supplier relationships across multiple companies
-
Limited coordination of supplier contracts across the group
-
Difficulty leveraging the organization’s total purchasing volume
Procurement data was stored separately within each company, often in different formats and systems.
To stabilize procurement operations and prepare for the arrival of a permanent leader, the company required experienced interim leadership to establish transparency and improve coordination across the group.

Swiss Interim Management placed an experienced interim procurement executive, Bruno Zingg, to take on the role of Strategic Procurement Project Manager.
During the five-month mandate, he focused on creating transparency across procurement activities and introducing a more coordinated approach to supplier management.
He consolidated procurement data from multiple companies to establish a clear overview of supplier spending and procurement categories. This enabled the identification of key suppliers and existing purchasing conditions across the group.
Based on this analysis, supplier relationships were reviewed and coordinated at group level. Opportunities were identified to improve purchasing conditions and structure supplier agreements more effectively.
In addition, a procurement dashboard was developed to provide ongoing transparency and support management in monitoring procurement activities in the future.
The mandate required close collaboration with multiple operating companies, each with its own processes and supplier relationships, ensuring alignment while maintaining operational continuity.
The result
The interim mandate delivered significant improvements in procurement transparency and coordination across the group.
Key outcomes included:
-
Transparency across approximately CHF 80 million in material procurement spend
-
Consolidation of supplier data across multiple companies
-
Improved overview of supplier relationships and procurement categories
-
Enhanced coordination of supplier management across the group
-
Implementation of tools and processes to support long-term procurement management
The analysis identified a savings potential of 5–7%, corresponding to approximately CHF 4.0–5.6 million annually.
Toward the end of the mandate, a permanent procurement leader was appointed. A structured four-week handover ensured continuity, with full transfer of knowledge, processes, and tools to the successor.
